First of all
we discuss about the Victorian history:
Victorian Age is named after queen Victoria who become the queen of Englandat the age of eighteen in 1837 and remained on the english throne till her death in 1901.She is known as the longest serving queen of England and her period is known as a period of Glory of England.
Now,
move toward our main topic Victorian age was a period of economic expansion and rapid change. The growth of london and of other cities in great britian marked a final stage in modern urban econmy based on manufacturing, international trade and finantional institution.Great Briatian was the one of the first countries of the world to industrialize, to established market and to reinvest the profit in other manufacturing developments.
Other inventions:
Other inventions were pri nting presses,industrial loom and agriculture machinary.And efficient postal service was developed, telephone invented and communication improved.
The Victorian Compromise:
The victorian compromise is the one way of seeing delimma. it implies a kind of double standard between national success and the expolitation of lower class worker at home and of colonies overseas; a compromise brtween philanthropy and tolerance and repression.
Literature:
The literature of the time reflects these concerns from the very beginning. The Jacobeans novels of 1790s had already outlined some areas of discontents. These novel had been depressedalso were the romantic poets' political statements.It was Disraeli whoes political novels give us one of the main lable of Victorian age. The two nation i.e;the Rich and the Poor, was the subtitle of his novel Sybil published in 1845. It underlined the fact that social concern and reforms were sympathetic subjects for a novel.
There was the movement throughout the Victorian period, toward democracy as there was in the rest in Europe. But where mainland Europe suffered revolution and political upheaval,the British government kept a strong holg on power. Working-class movements, republican groups, trade nation and similar dissident expression were contained as far as possible. in literature however,such expressions flourished.
Stress on Morality:
One of the most important factor that defined the age was its stress on morality. strict societal code was enforced and certain activities were openly looked down upon. This code was often harsh for women A feminine code of conduct was levied on them whoich descibed every aspects of their being , fom the apperals to how to converse, every thing hard rules.hence, they are financially dependent on their husband and fathers and led to a commercilization of the institutioin of marriage.
Conclusion:
Victorian era was a period which saw violant changes in the social life. It brought wealth and prosperity for the government and some classes of society but put the lower class into trouble by making their life worse than before till there were made some legislation to improve the conditions of working class.
